How far did price travel from the open in past sessions?

The prior session's profile uses 30-minute periods and a 70% value area. Before the open, the ladder starts from the prior close. Levels are fixed once their period closes; only the table updates inside the bar. Charts from 1 to 60 minutes.

ES regular session (9:30-16:00 ET), 7-Jun-2010 to 9-Oct-2026. Expected move = 0.8 × the daily implied standard deviation (prior close × VIX / 100 / √252); on days without a VIX reading, 0.88 × the 20-session average true range. It is known before the open. The distance is measured from the 9:30 ET opening price and 'reached' = the session trades that price before the 16:00 ET close. The two columns are independent: one session can reach the distance in both directions. It is what happened, not a signal.

Because a historical percentage describes how much and how often the market moved in the past, not where it will go today. That is why every figure comes with its sample and none of them suggests trades.
